Before becoming managing partner of Shaw Marsden, Ian Foster worked for a number of years in Japan. This included working for a Japanese law firm in Osaka, the Tokyo branch of a major UK law firm and a short spell in the legal department of a Japanese trading company. Ian speaks fluent Japanese and has a good understanding of the Japanese marketplace and the cultural and legal issues that need to be considered when a business is contemplating entering the Japanese market or doing business in Japan.
